I recently had a chat with Antoinette Harrell who is doing courageous work documenting modern day peonage, abject poverty, and generalized black oppression in the rural southern United States. There is a movement afoot to take the United States before the World Court to face charges of human rights violations against African Americans. Sister Antoinette needs your support which, at this stage, is just a matter of circulating her videos as widely as possible to create awareness about this problem.
Please spread the word and be on the look out for future developments.
2/18/2010 Update from Antoinette Harrell:
Dear Family and Colleagues,
Several people are trying to steal my research and take credit for what I have done in this area of research for 10 years. The documentary entitled...The Cotton Pickin Truth...Still On The Plantation is schedule to be screened across the United States. I didn't do this work for the love ofmoney, but for truth and justice for all humanity. Please help me to circulate any information on the subject of Slavery in the 20th Century. This story has been out here for 10 years. They are claiming that they revealed that slavery exist in the 20th Century. [Click on Selma Times Journal link below for details]
